MUSEUM of the ROCKIES Identity and Illustration

Under the helm of paleontologist Dr. Jack Horner of Montana State University and the Museum of the Rockies, scientists working on the Dino-Chicken Project – the latest study involving latent primitive genes in modern birds – required a distinct identity, as well as an array of imagery which could be used to identify the project for journal publication.  The yin and yang symbol served as inspiration for the identity work, as it signifies the sharing of DNA of both species – there’s a little of the bird in the dinosaur, and a little of the dinosaur in the bird.  The new identity would strike its own chord while working in harmony with existing MOTR brand standards.

The figures shown represent the first in a series published in the journal EvoDevo.
